I started my own real estate business in Wiscasset, while already a co-owner and manager of Carl M.P. Larrabee Insurance Agency, over 50 years ago. For many years my real estate business was a one man operation until over time I eventually added three associates to my staff.

At the end of 2009 I sold my businessto Nancy Carleton, who soon after opened up a second branchof Roy Farmer Associates in Bath. I have stayed on at my home base, the Wiscasset office.  I enjoy assisting with the operation of the oldest Real Estate Agency in Lincoln County.

My background is unique, having been born in British Honduras, to parents who were Lincoln County, Maine natives, but had moved to Honduras to manage a banana plantation before I was born.  When I was 3 yrs. old my parents returned to Lincoln County and settled in Wiscasset, as my father became manager of an A&P market on Main Street.  He later opened up his own business, “Farmer’s Market”, well known in the area for many years.  I was brought up with the hard working New England ethic.  My father was always in the public eye, and I, being the first born of 4 children, was always there to assist him.  Serving the public is second nature to me, which is why real estate is such a good fit for me.  The people I have met and worked with in this business have truly enriched my life and I am grateful to be continuing my service.

I was raised in Wiscasset, graduated from Wiscasset Academy and then entered the Army during World War II. Returning from duty in Germany, I enrolled at the University of Maine, Orono, and earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration. Concurrent with my real estate and insurance businesses, I served as a Bail Commissioner and as Register of Probate for Lincoln County for 20+ years. I was a Trustee of the Wiscasset School District, served as a Town Selectman, as a Representative of the Maine State Legislature, was Treasurer of Lincoln County, served as President of the Wiscasset Alumni Association, and am currently a member of the American Legion, the Masons and the Sheepscot Valley Conservation Association.
